Rebirth

The patting down
The smoothing off
Of dirt and sand

The rain poured on
The desert then
It disappeared

The star we know
Is unforgiving
At times like these

Tectonic plates
That separate
On surfaces

All roads lead to
Another life
Wherever it

May be it is
The patting down
The smoothing off

Another life
Is somewhere else
But here because

The armies made
Of dirt and sand
Must now disarm

Disperse themselves
Not just disperse
But also break

To tiny pieces
From which new life
Is carved like birth

All roads lead to
Another life
Somewhere above

Where hints of light
And lesser texture
Define that place

Song of rebirth
Is good or bad
Depending on

What good or bad
Is smoldering
Upon the skin

Elsa Zylberstein (5)

Elsa Zylberstein

On reading an interview of French actress “Elsa Zylberstein – pure héroϊne” in Aéroports de Paris magazine.

Part 5
La maison Nucigen – Un homme a gagné aux cartes une maison située au Chili. Après un long voyage avec son espouse, il arrive dans un endroit étrange où les fantômes ne sont pas plus bizarres que les vivants.

I always say yes. I left for Chile without even reading the script.
They say, ‘Be careful what you wish for, you
May actually get whatever it may be’ –

Mysterious place, a darkness with an air of fey,

The haunts of dying at the edge of life.

Elsa Zylberstein (4)

Elsa Zylberstein, Paris Fashion Week

On reading an interview of French actress “Elsa Zylberstein – pure héroϊne” in Aéroports de Paris magazine.

Part 4
I’m something of a global citizen… but Paris remains my city.
I can be resident
     Of everywhere.
It is no accident
     The clothes I wear.

Home is the place I nest
     Where comforts live.
Those parts that never rest
     I do not give.

We’ve traveled near and far
     With roads that carry us
Defining who we are –
     Still, home is Paris.

Part 3
Romantic suits me! But it doesn’t mean much. It has dark and desperate connotations. I’m romantic, without the passive quality.
But doesn’t romantic mean eternal heavenly and active seeking of a love?

Elsa Zylberstein (2)

Elsa Zylberstein

On reading an interview of French actress “Elsa Zylberstein – pure héroϊne” in Aéroports de Paris magazine.

Part 2
I’m always getting ready for something. In September, I’ll be playing Hannah Arendt in Antoine Rault’s “Le Démon d’Hannah.” She was Heidegger’s pupil and they had an affair. When she returns to Friborg much later, she wonders how she could have fallen in love with a Nazi.
You’ll come to know how Hannah fell in love
With Heidegger, before you even enter her.
But can you be the pupil, still, with love
Unknowing in her eyes, while knowing her?
